Advice from Current and Past NELA Executive Coaches
First, decide what you want to accomplish during the internship year. Next, make sure that you have the crucial conversations with the principal mentor about what is expected from you and what you can expect from him/her during this learning period. Additionally, determine what you plan to do during the first 90 days. One other thing that I advise my interns to consider is the "lesson learned" from each of the various experiences. - Dr. Henry Johnson

You’ll have a chance to learn from seasoned principals, from some of North Carolina’s most capable teachers, and from the students and families you encounter. Commit yourself to the posture of a learner, the spirit of a servant, and take advantage of all that these persons can teach you.
