Individual Leadership Plan
"ILP"
The Individual Leadership Plan will provide baseline data for your leadership profile (later documented on electronic portfolio). This tool should be used to direct experiences that you, your Executive Coach and Principal Mentor agree are needed to address areas for growth. ILP is a place to set goals and state what must happen to achieve them. These experiences can be had at internship sites, school visits, specialized trainings, school rotations, etc. This information will be a key piece to obtaining your NC School Administrator license. The process is as follows:
1) Self Evaluation
Individually, Fellows complete a self-evaluation for each element. This exercise is primarily reflective, though Fellows should be prepared to support all ratings with artifacts. Moreover, Fellows should brainstorm the activities and experiences they need in order justify a proficient or higher rating in each standard. This part must be completed prior to your principal residency beginning.
2) Discuss of Self-Evaluation with Principal Mentor & Executive Coach
Schedule a meeting with Principal Mentor and Executive Coach to review your self evaluation once in the Fall & once in the Spring. Send a copy of your self evaluation at least three days prior to the meeting.
3) Finalize the Individualized Plan
Meet with Principal Mentor and Executive Coach to co-create a finalized version that will be updated regularly. Fellows should be actively documenting their experiences throughout Principal Residency using a variety of technology-based resources (web, video, multimedia). These artifacts will be logged on individual digital portfolios.
